Zika virus disease is a self-limiting acute infectious disease caused by the Zika virus, which is mainly transmitted through the bite of Aedes aegypti mosquitoes. The clinical features are mainly fever, rash, arthralgia or conjunctivitis, and it is rarely fatal. According to the World Health Organization, neonatal microcephaly and Guillain-Barre syndrome may be associated with Zika virus infection.
